Our New York offices specializes in personnel planning, scheduling, and management solutions with round-the-clock service to the aviation industry worldwide.

Essential Functions

• Installation and setup of Oracle and Informix servers for complex, multi-tier customized applications
• Deployments of the database side of the solution for complex, multi-tiered software at the customer site or in our hosting datacenter.
• Environment setups for developer, test and production environments
• Managing changes to both client and internal database schemas using ERWin.
• Management of DB maintenance contracts (including dealing with third-party vendors)
• Ticket logging and issue tracking, including all follow up steps to resolve the problem (e.g. coordinating fixes with third-party vendors)
• Creating some stored procedures and PL/SQL as part of custom software development
• Act as backup support for UNIX/Linux system expert.

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt. Work Hours: Mon - Fri

Education/Experience
A Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and related work experience (5 to 8 years). Oracle or Informix certification is preferred. UNIX or Linux certification is a plus!

• Efficient organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be a self-starter, able to work and learn independently, in addition to being a team player. Can-do attitude and time management skills are critical.
• Must be detail-oriented, have strong communication skills, and good work ethic.
• Must be flexible to work occasional off-hours and weekends as required.
• Will be required to carry a Blackberry and be on 24/7 support.
• Expected to travel up to 15% of the year.
