Jeppesen Systems develops and implements state of the art technology and optimization systems for the world's leading airlines and railways. RMS - R and PlanOp are products used for the optimisation of resources and for distribution logistics. It is used by several companies in Europe and overseas, most notably in Rail, Postal and Courier businesses.

An Optimisation Expert/Operations Research consultant is being sought to be part of consultancies using the RMS - R and PlanOp products for a number of projects in Europe and overseas. The successful applicant will be working in a well-established team involved in continuing consultancy work and the development and deployment of the product to current and new clients.

Responsibilities

• Working within a team to analyse the customer's business problem, decompose it into tasks that can be addressed within as well as outside mentioned systems.
• Modelling RMS - R and PlanOp tasks as scenarios and using the optimisation tools to produce the best possible scenario results.
• Taking raw data sources and preparing them as input into scenarios.
• Requesting changes to RMS - R and PlanOp required to complete a consultancy.
• Writing consultancy reports and presenting results.
• Working with team members in an established time frame and scope, taking account of project priorities, reporting progress to project management to successfully complete the project.
• Working to established team practices, both formal and informal.
• Using a variety of tools for the above, including the Microsoft Office Suite.

Essential Qualifications

• A strong mathematics background
• High level English language communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate and work in a team environment.

Higly Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of linear and integer programming
• Experience in consultancy projects, especially in resource optimisation
• Willingness to travel internationally.
