Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic individual to help us continue driving our business forward. The Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for all local user support and the day to day maintenance of our New York office network infrastructure.

Maintains and improves delivery systems availability, functionality, and performance for multiple systems. Diagnoses and resolves complex hardware, software, and network problems. Provides leadership for major system modifications and installations. Applies appropriate security measures. Prefer a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline and at least 8 years' related experience.

• Responsible for the support of 50+ desktop/laptop users in the New York office.
• Act as primary network support liaison between Jeppesen's HQ in Denver and worldwide locations.
• Responsible for moves/changes and setups of office data and voice communications.
• Proficient in current mainstream Microsoft client operating systems and business/office application suites (Win2K, WinXP, Office 2003, Project)
• Well versed in Norton Ghostcast Server and client imaging software.
• Excellent knowledge of Lotus Notes/Domino server, Outlook/Exchange Server 2003.
• Primary contact for Blackberry support, activation and configuration (end user support only)
• Troubleshoot Cisco VPN connection issues both locally and remotely.
• Minimum three year experience with IBM's xServer series machine builds, RAID, hardware/software configuration and management.
• Good all-round understanding of network topologies, routers, switches and how they relate to WAN's.
• Excellent understanding of networking, TCP/IP, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, and WINS)
• Good working knowledge of backup/restore operations using Veritas Backup Exec. Version 10.
• Proficiency with IBM's Tape Library 4560SLX using Veritas Backup Exec.
• Knowledge of UNIX (AIX, HPUX) and LINUX (Red Hat) operating systems a definite plus.
• Active Directory management, including creation of new user accounts, mail and user group setups, access rights, permission management and Group Policy implementation.
• Good knowledge of IBM SAN storage and configuration.
• Knowledge of VMWare, ESX Server and Workstation a definite plus.
• Responsible for the management of all hardware/software inventory and leasing.
• Help identify and implement innovative solutions to improve the support for all users.
• Efficient organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be a self-starter, able to work and learn independently, in addition to being a team player. Can-do attitude and time management skills are critical.
• Must be detail-oriented, have strong communication skills, and good work ethic.
• Must be flexible to work some off-hours and weekends as required.
• Will be required to carry a Blackberry and be on 24/7 support.
  

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems is preferred. Minimum 5 years experience in this field is required. MCSE on Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003 platform certification a plus.
