June 2002: SAS broadens use of Carmen Systems' legality language |

Carmen Systems AB announces that the European airline SAS, has extended the contract for the corporate legality system software, Carmen Rave. Carmen Rave guarantees that industrial rules and regulations are respected in all IT systems. SAS is already using Carmen Rave in many applications, and in the new agreement they have the ability to use the software in all IT systems. In addition, it will also assist SAS in meeting and measuring the operational objectives for stability and efficiency. SAS is currently using Carmen Rave to perform legality controls in all crew management systems, including their real-time crew tracking system and various optimization applications. "With Carmen Rave we can constantly adjust to changes in the operation and we can also perform simulations to analyze the consequences of potential modifications in our critical crew management systems. Today the ability to simulate and quickly respond to change is key to the survival of any airline," says Allan Sørensen, IT Manager, Crew Management Systems at SAS. "The rapid changes in the transportation industry following September 11 highlights the importance of being able to quickly adjust rules and cost objectives in the operation. Carmen Rave enables management to make informed decisions very fast," says Per Norén, CEO at Carmen Systems.
