The Boeing Company today announced it has concluded its purchase of Carmen Systems. Carmen has merged into Jeppesen's Commercial & Military Aviation business unit. All of Jeppesen's planning, scheduling, optimization and disruption management business will be led by Per Norén (Carmen Systems' former CEO).

The acquisition supports Boeing’s strategy of providing its customers with innovative products and services to help them run their businesses more efficiently.

“We will add Carmen’s great products and people to our expanding information management and operations solutions business that are so important to our customers.”

With this purchase, Carmen Systems will become part of Jeppesen, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services. Jeppesen will fully integrate, support and grow Carmen’s businesses.

“Carmen’s aviation business is a natural fit for Jeppesen and will enhance our existing portfolio of airline operations services by adding their crew, fleet and logistics resource optimization solutions,” said Mark Van Tine, president and chief operating officer of Jeppesen.

Carmen Systems, headquartered in Göteborg, Sweden, has approximately 300 employees. It also has significant operations in Australia and Canada. The companies aren’t disclosing the terms of the transaction.
