Carmen Fleet Recovery Solver helps you recover
from disruptions on the day of operation. The solver can be connected
to existing day of operation systems.
The Carmen Fleet Recovery Solver automatically produces
recovery options for major and minor disruptions. An option can contain
any combination of re-timings, internal and external fleet swaps and cancellations.
The objective is to recover as quickly as possible with as little change
as possible and thus retain maximum service levels for passengers.
The solver will produce high quality solutions for major and minor disruptions
within minutes.
The user can easily investigate different trade-offs, e.g. between a quick
recovery and a low operational cost, or between minimum changes and a
stable operation. It is also possible to set exact goals, e.g. an upper
limit for the number of flight swaps, maximal re-timings, etc. The result
is presented with customized key performance indicators for easy comparison
and selection.
All legality and quality is controlled with Carmen's modelling language
Rave. Rave guarantees for all our clients that the solutions produced
always respect the company's legality and quality policies, as well as
the targets for costs and passenger service levels. Rave also makes it
possible to control properties such as what flight patterns that are desirable
for operational stability, limitations caused by operational deficiencies
of individual aircraft, stability in the planning of maintenance activities,
etc.
Changes can be introduced at short notice by the local
system administrator. This will ensure that the system delivers the best
possible solutions, even after changes to crew agreements, timetables,
company policies, planning processes, etc.
By integrating a lot of solvers the potential is even greater. The Fleet
Recovery Solver can rapidly guarantee that the proposed solutions are
feasible and effective for the entire operation, when coupled with the
Passenger Recovery Solver and Crew Recovery Solver.
Carmen Fleet Recovery Solver is a stand-alone system
designed to work in an integrated operations control environment. The
solver reads input and delivers solutions as XML messages to and from
an asynchronous queue.

The solver communicates with other systems
through an on-line interface. The design of the interface does not
put any other requirements on the other systems than that they should
be able to read/write XML messages. |
