Throughout the 19th and early 20th century,
over one million Swedes emigrated from Sweden and moved to North America.
Many of them were adventurers, farmers and entrepreneurs who seized the
opportunity for themselves and their families to build a new future. One
of the most popular places to settle down was Minnesota, where the climate,
nature and people felt quite similar to home. Today it is estimated that
there are as many Americans of Swedish descent as there are inhabitants
in Sweden. Today’s industry climate and economy has dictated that very few airlines can afford NOT to use the most advanced and fastest ways to improve productivity. Northwest Airlines have expressed to us that the tools used should not only provide the best optimization, but also satisfy the important demands of handling rapid change. Added to these requirements is the provision of decision support through extensive simulation capabilities. Philippine Airlines has communicated that improvements in operational stability is a key objective of theirs. I can assure you that we will do our utmost to support Northwest Airlines, Philippine Airlines and of course all of our valued clients with their specific visions and strategies in these challenging times. Carmen supplies a growing suite of optimization software and services offering decision support and solutions for the key cost driving resources in the operation of airlines and railways today. With the Northwest Airlines agreement we now supply 4 of the 10 largest airlines in the world with significant increases in productivity through Carmen’s knowledge and products. Carmen Crew Pairing now optimizes the planning for over 110,000 airline crew members globally. I’m sure you will agree that this puts Carmen Crew Pairing in a league of its own. The best is yet to come. Per Norén
