CrewGroups is a tool that supports the construction of optimal crew groups. These groups consist of cabin crew (pursers and cabin attendants) that shall work together for a length of a month. The tool is available as an option for Carmen Crew Rostering.

Today CrewGroups is used at Iberia. Iberia does scheduling for each purser and copies the roster to each cabin attendant in the group. Therefore the crew groups must be well formed according to a large number of constraints regarding buddy bids, preferred days off, preassignements and homogenity regarding certain historic values.

CrewGroups is implemented using ILOG Solver 4.4 and makes use of set variables, problem specific classes, constraints, goal minimization and problem specific search algorithms.
